Bagaya Kyaung in 360°

Bagaya Kyaung was entirely built of teak wood during the reign of King Bagyidaw in 1834. Besides being a monastery, it was also used as a palace, as it can be clearly identified by the existence of the tower, a typical secular feature of royal palaces.

1. What to see

Bagaya Kyaung is supported by 267 teak posts, out of which the largest has a height of 18m and measures 2.7m in circumference. Although being not renovated yet, it is still worth to be visited because of its fascinating exterior and interior carvings.
